国外只有报道说,贝鲁斯科尼出面来否认他暗中搞鬼,阻止俄罗斯人收购罗马:
Italy PM denies role in collapse of Roma talks
ROME (AP) -- Premier Silvio Berlusconi denied mounting speculation in the Italian media Wednesday that he was behind the suspension of the talks between debt-laden soccer team AS Roma and Russian oil company Nafta-Moskva.
The Russian concern was reportedly prepared to invest euro400 million (US$495 million) for the Rome club, which is said to be euro250 million (US$310 million) in debt. But the talks failed last week.
The collapse angered many fans in the capital, who had hoped the Russians might inject some fresh cash into the team. Some newspapers and radio reports speculated that Berlusconi, who owns current Serie A leader and Roma rival AC Milan, might have used his friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin to block the deal.
Berlusconi described the reports as "laughable and even offensive speculation."
"I've never dreamed, as is obvious, of talking to the president of the Russian Federation about the negotiations for the sale of AS Roma, let alone to hinder them," Berlusconi said in a written statement released by his office.
The premier added he hoped Roma would remain one of the leading teams of Italian soccer.
Berlusconi's remarks came a day after his deputy, Gianfranco Fini, had called the reports "colossal nonsense."
But in Rome, a city where soccer fans are passionate and often have a tendency toward conspiracy theories, speculation kept mounting.
"Urban Legends: A Kremlin conspiracy against Totti," was the front-page headline in the Turin-based newspaper, La Stampa, summing up the reports in the capital. Francesco Totti is a Roma star striker and one of Italy's leading players.
Roma is trailing Berlusconi's Milan by five points in the Serie A standings, and is also running for the UEFA Cup.
Last week, an Italian lawyer for Nafta-Moskva, a successor of the monopolist Soviet oil trader Soyuznefteexport, said the Russians have given up on any deal to buy soccer club AS Roma because of concerns over a sweeping financial probe of top Italian teams, including Roma.
The lawyer, Salvatore Trifiro, described the poor financial state of Italian soccer as a "very serious problem," indicating it had discouraged the Russians.
