Roma forward Francesco Totti will not be joining American side New York Cosmos at the end of season, according to Dee Kundra, director of marketing and communications at the club.
Totti’s contract expires at the end of the season and, after enduring a falling out with coach Luciano Spalletti, the Giallorossi veteran has been linked with a move abroad to the second division American club.
“Totti is a great player,” said Kundra to VoceGiallorossa.
“However, at the moment he will not join New York Cosmos.”
Whilst Kundra’s words pour cold water on talk of a move to the Big Apple, Totti is continued to be linked with an array of clubs, even with a possible move to Sampdoria being reported, as suggestions of the Lupi legend leaving his life long team show no signs of slowing down.
This season Totti has made just six Serie A appearances, with only two of which coming as a starter. In those appearances the 39-year-old has contributed one goal and one assist.
