Skysports.com understand that Blackburn are set to land Roma striker Shabani Nonda.

The DR Congo international has sunk down the pecking order at The Stadio Olimpico over the last few months and Roma are now ready to let him leave.

Rovers have been looking for ways to bolster their attacking options over the summer and coincidentally missed out on another Roma striker in the shape of Mido.

Now Rovers are believed to have struck a deal with the Roman outfit, which will see Nonda arrive on loan for the remainder of this season.

Should Nonda impress as Rovers boss Mark Hughes no doubt hopes - then there will be an option for the deal to become permanent.

The 29-year-old is due to arrive in England on Thursday when he will have a medical and look to finalise the move.
