Rodrigo Taddei’s increasingly bitter row with his club Siena could see him join Roma as early as next week.
The Brazilian was frozen out of the squad a couple of days ago when his agent made derogatory remarks about the way negotiations with the Giallorossi were being handled.
“We will not accept this sort of ungrateful attitude,” warned President Paolo De Luca. “Taddei can play five-a-side football for the whole season as far as we are concerned.”
Nonetheless, the matter should come to a head early next week when Roma come forward with a new and improved offer.
They will suggest taking Taddei in exchange for £1m cash plus the season-long loan of Under-21 international creative midfielder Gaetano D’Agostino.
It would be in Siena’s interest to sell now, as the impressive 24-year-old winger will be out of contract come July 2006.
