La Repubblica have published the reported excerpt from Francesco Totti’s autobiography “Un Capitano”, which is set to be released tomorrow, that led to Franco Baldini resigning from his position in Roma’s Executive Committee after Totti accused Baldini of pushing for him to retire in his book.
Reportedly, in the book, Totti talks about a discussion with Baldini where the latter reportedly said, “I wanted and supported Spalletti because I knew he thought like me. Years ago, I told you that I wanted to sell you, but every manager I spoke with asked that I confirm your presence in the team. However, Spalletti didn’t ask me for this, however. Above all, we all know that your presence in these last few seasons has been a burden for Roma”.
