Emo to follow Capello
Roma ace Emerson is on the verge of joining Fabio Capello at Juventus, according to his agent.

The Brazilian has been linked with a switch to the northern giants and his representative is confident that he’ll now follow Capello to Turin.

"I still can’t confirm that we have an agreement with the Bianconeri but we are close," Gilmar Veloz is quoted as saying.

"The arrival of Capello at the club as their new Coach is undoubtedly a very important factor for Emerson now."

The former Bayer Leverkusen star will be sold this summer as the capital club risk losing him for nothing next year.

But Roma are keen to sell him to another side rather than strengthen their arch-rivals Juventus. However, Veloz insists the Old Lady are in pole position.

"We’ve spoken to both Real Madrid and Inter in the past," added the midfielder’s representative.

"We’ve been in contact with the Nerazzurri in particular after speaking with Marco Branca on three occasions but without ever reaching an agreement.

"To be honest, I think it will be very difficult to see the situation change from now on."

Whispers circulating around the peninsula today also suggest that Capello has asked his new club to sign Christian Vieri.

The Italian may still leave Inter before the start of the new campaign, especially as Alberto Zaccheroni has been confirmed in his job as Nerazzurri boss.

The two men seemingly don’t have the best relationship after they clashed on numerous occasions in the last few months.

MILANO, 31 maggio 2004 - Dopo Samuel, anche Emerson potrebbe vestire l'anno prossimo la maglia bianca dei galattici del Real Madrid. A dare la notizia è stato Ernesto Bronzetti, il mediatore che si è occupato delle operazioni di mercato tra Roma e Real Madrid, che intervenendo a «Radio Radio» ha svelato un accordo tra le due società: "Abbiamo fatto un'offerta di 17 milioni di euro alla Roma - ha detto Bronzetti -. Non so cosa hanno offerto le altre società e non lo voglio sapere, ma non credo che ci siano giocatori al mondo che possano rifiutare il Real Madrid".
"Non so se c'è la Juventus o l'Inter - prosegue Bronzetti -, Baldini che è una persona seria ha dato la sua parola ai dirigenti del Real Madrid, c'è un accordo tra le due società e tra domani e mercoledì lo ratificheremo. Non dimentichiamo che c'è un ottimo feeling tra la famiglia Sensi e Perez. Il contratto di Emerson? Il Real Madrid sa che Emerson è un giocatore che ha un costo e un ingaggio importante, di conseguenza si adatterà alle offerte". Resta da capire se non sia un depistaggio della Roma per innescare un'asta vendicarsi dello "sgarbo Capello". Poi Bronzetti rivela quella che potrebbe essere anche un'altra trattativa per un grande d'Italia: "Il Real Madrid sta cercando un attaccante da affiancare a Ronaldo, non è detto che non sia il centravanti della Nazionale, Christian Vieri".
Domani intanto sarà il giorno di Prandelli, che verrà presentato alle 16. Il secondo sarà Gabriele Pin, poi i preparatori Giambattista Venturati e Renzo Casellato. Il nuovo tecnico poi farà conoscenza con il centro sportivo della Roma, che sarà il suo luogo di lavoro per i prossimi tre anni. Nel pomeriggio poi, compatibilmente con la durata degli impegni, potrebbe prendere contatto con Totti, che in serata dovrà tornare nel ritiro azzurro di Coverciano. Intanto il capitano, con la partenza di Capello, vede crescere il suo ruolo non solo all'interno della squadra: "In settimana sentirò la società e Prandelli e discuteremo insieme dei nuovi acquisti".

Emerson has told Roma to forget about trying to sell him to Real Madrid as he wants a move to Juventus.

The Spaniards have been in negotiations with the Giallorossi and a £12m bid has been tabled.

But the Brazilian, who is only contracted for another year in the Italian capital, only has eyes for the Turin giants.

"I’ve been informed of the agreement between Roma and Real but why didn’t anyone tell me? This all seems very strange," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I was contacted by Real in January but they considered my demands as too high. It’s odd that they are interested again after I promised myself to Juventus.

"The Bianconeri have been straight with me from the start and Roma know what my problems are. Therefore I won’t change my mind - I want Juventus."

Some Roma fans have labelled Emerson as a traitor for even considering a move to their deadly rivals but Emerson has defended himself.

"I’ve always been good to the club," he explained. "Last season I remained despite an offer from Chelsea.

"I then turned down a move in January when President Franco Sensi asked me to stay and help fight for Lo Scudetto. I’m no traitor and my conscience is clear."

Roma really do not want to sell such a quality player to a club who they don’t have the best relationship with – especially after losing Fabio Capello and Jonathan Zebina to them already.

"It isn’t my fault if there is great rivalry between Juventus and Roma," added the South American.

"It is just a professional choice of mine. The fact that Capello is there is simply coincidental. I want to join Juve and I just ask Roma to make that happen."

MILAN, June 2 (Reuters) - AS Roma's Brazilian midfielder Emerson says he is set on a transfer to Juventus despite the prospect of a move to Spain's Real Madrid.

"I want to go to Juventus and I think that is the sensible choice," Emerson told Wednesday's Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus last week appointed Emerson's former coach at Roma Fabio Capello as their new boss and the Brazilian is widely expected to join him at the Delle Alpi stadium.

Reports of an agreement between Roma and Real threw the move into doubt but Emerson says he is not going to change his mind.

"I've heard about (the agreement) but why didn't they inform me first? It seems a strange one to me," said Emerson.

"I hope that Juve and Roma will reach an agreement as soon as possible. I don't think it is fair to make a big issue out of this. I just ask that they let me go," he said.

The Brazilian said he was given permission from Roma president Franco Sensi to talk to other clubs in January and his agent had listened to several offers, including approaches from Real, Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Juventus.

"Juventus have been clear right from the outset and won my confidence right away," said Emerson, adding that he was looking forward to continuing his work with Capello, who angered Roma fans by his switch to their bitter rivals.

"I have to admit that this coincidence pleases me a lot. I already know Capello's qualities and I have always found it wonderful to work with him. Juve couldn't have made a better choice," said Emerson.

The Brazilian, who joined Roma in January 2001 and helped them to the Serie A title in his first season, said Roma, who have acute financial problems, had turned down a huge offer from Chelsea last year.

"Maybe not everyone knows that a year ago Chelsea came forward with an offer of 30 million euros to Roma and a five year multi-million contract for me."

其实主要是埃莫森不会处理与队友之间的人际关系。他和托蒂等人的关系很僵，在巴西国家队也没有人缘。哎，现在的球星不能只看球踢的好不好，各方面都要考虑。
