Roma Prepare Bid For Tottenham's Roman Pavlyuchenko - Report
Roma are keeping close tabs on Tottenham Hotspur ace Roman Pavlyuchenko as their search for a hitman goes on; they could make a 10million bid for him, according to Il Messaggero.
The Rome-based publication claims Luciano Spalletti has added the Spurs man to his hitlist following his recent talk with the club's owners. The coach seemed to get backing from his club in terms of future transfer plans when he met with president Rosella Sensi. Voices now suggest he has the power to make his move on the transfer market.
It is suggested Pavlyuchenko will be the subject of a bid from Roma after the club decided to pull out from their chase for Sevilla's Luis Fabiano. The Spanish club want around 20m for their man - a figure deemed to be too pricey for the Italians.
With 'Pav' at half the price of Fabiano, Roma are ready to make their move. The Russian scored 14 goals for Spurs last season, but it has all been far from rosy following his run-in with manager Harry Redknapp. The boss accused his man of showing a lack of respect at the tail end of the campaign.
Reports coming from England suggest the player is one of the names on the departure list at White Hart Lane, and Roma could capitalise.
