01/15/2004. Sampdoria boss Walter Novellino has spoken ahead of this weekend's mouth watering Serie A clash between his side and league leaders AS Roma, saying that Antonio Cassano is a real danger.
Despite the youngsters off the pitch problems, the latest a training ground row with Roma boss Fabio Capello just last week, the starlet continues to impress and his game is clearly catching the eye of important onlookers.
"I watched the Perugia game yesterday and Roma made an excellent impression on me. Above all, I thought that Cassano did very well as he played with real enthusiasm during the match," explained the tactician.
Cassano has had a brilliant season with the capital club so far, his form clearly helping the side maintain top spot in the league. Many critics believe that his attitude off the field will evidently halt his rise to stardom, however Novellino disagrees, saying that under the guidance of Capello, the forward will surely continue to impress.
"I think that Cassano is a good guy really and Capello is doing a great job at looking after him," explained the Samp boss.
