Gentile opens Cassano door

Under-21 boss Claudio Gentile says that he could call-up Antonio Cassano for the Olympic Games.
The Roma youngster was frozen out of the Azzurrini set-up after a number of disagreements but peace could be on the horizon.
"Antonio didn’t play with us because he was part of the full squad," he said after his team were crowned European Champions last night.
"I’ve never closed the door on Cassano. As time goes on, people start to grow and mature."
Italy ensured their place in Athens after beating Portugal in the semi-finals of the European Championships on Saturday night.
And they today found out that they have been drawn in Group B along with Japan, Ghana and Paraguay.
"It’s not a very good draw for us," said the ever-cautious Coach. "Ghana are a very physical side who will be used to the heat of Athens.
"It will be also very tough against Paraguay. They eliminated Brazil and that should illustrate their potential."
Gentile has the option to strengthen his side though by calling up three over-aged players. Reports suggest that the Milan pair of Pippo Inzaghi and Max Ambrosini will be selected.
Meanwhile, full boss Giovanni Trapattoni has praised the U-21 side after beating Serbia Montenegro 3-0 in last night’s final.
"I must compliment the players for their strong squad and desire to win, especially after a slow start to the tournament," stated Trap.
"I thought Daniele De Rossi did well to give Italy the lead, while Giuseppe Sculli and Marco Donadel also impressed."
