Roma’s Vincenzo Montella insists that he still has plenty to offer to the world of Italian football.

But the international insists he will be back in the headlines soon, despite the fact that he will undergo another knee operation this morning.

"I’ve been angered by reports which claim I was finished as a player even at the age of 29," he said.

Montella will go under the knife today in Geneva before immediately starting a rehabilitation programme.

Reports suggest that it will take the pint-sized striker, who will return to Rome on Monday, around 12 weeks to fully recover.
