Sevilla Claim De Sanctis Deal Morgan de Sanctis will be unveiled as a Sevilla player on Tuesday after agre eing to join the UEFA Cup holders, the Andalucian club has announced. The 30-year-old goalkeeper became the first player in Italian football to re scind his own contract, which he did to force a move out of Udinese. Pietro Leonardi, Udinese's chief operating officer, confirmed that the playe r had used a new FIFA rule to "voluntarily and unilaterally" rescind his con tract". "It is the first case of a formal request being received to do this in Italy ," Leonardi added. Sevilla claim that they have agreed a deal with the keeper, despite reports linking him with a move to Lazio. "The Italian goalkeeper, Morgan de Sanctis, is Sevilla FC's first signing fo r the 07/08 season," a statement on the Spanish club's website read. "The former Udinese custodian will be presented tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Ra món Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium." De Sanctis' capture means that David Cobe?o will now be sold after he refuse d to be play for the B team, Sevilla Atlético, in la Segunda A next term.
