Roma’s Pizarro Still Months Away From Return
AS Roma will have to reckon without David Pizarro until at least October, according to the latest word from the Gialorossi medical department. The 27-year-old midfielder’s knee injury is healing slower than had been hoped and there are fears that he might even have to undergo surgery to straighten out the problem. At least Roma are better equipped to cope without the Chilean schemer this time around, as the acquisitions of Esposito and Giuly in particular, will allow coach Spaletti to shift around players in the midfield in his absence. Nevertheless, the chrome-domed tactician will be ruing not having Pizarro available from the beginning, as Roma were handed a nightmare start to the new campaign which has them facing Palermo, Fiorentina, Inter and Juventus in the first four weeks, and Lazio and Milan as well withing the first ten rounds.
