“We still believe we can do it,” he told ‘Roma Channel.’ “Obviously, now it isn’t just up to us any more.”
The two teams drew 1-1 at the Stadio Franchi on April 2 and both face tough tests this weekend, as Fiorentina travel to Palermo and Roma pay a visit to Chievo.
“After the game at the Franchi I said we deserved a place in the Champions League more than the Viola and I haven’t changed my mind. Unfortunately, we’re back chasing them again in the table.”
There are three rounds left and the Giallorossi hope Palermo can trip up their rivals. They already know what it’s like to struggle at the Stadio Barbera, as earlier this month they were leading here 3-0 only to finish the game with a 3-3 result.
“It will be a very important weekend in this race, but it’s not the last one,” concluded Argentine defender Cufrè.
“We must win all the remaining games so there can be no regrets, regardless of what Fiorentina achieve in that time.”
