Spalletti: I could do better

Coach Luciano Spalletti has given an honest appraisal of his first three months at Roma.
"I was hoping to do better," he said.
Spalletti has had something of a baptism of fire during his spell in the Eternal City, which has been characterised by internal squabbling, a long list of injuries to key players and underachievement.
"I thought that by the end of the year I would have a few more points on the board. Obviously we could do better.
"That is our objective," he added. "To get better, improve and progress – always strive to achieve more. Apart from our League position, though, I can see positive signs."
"I have tried to manage certain situations in the best possible way," added the 46-year-old. "I have tried to work on a project that will reap its rewards in the long term and the championship isn’t over by a long way yet."
Spalletti’s men lie 10th in the table, two points behind city rivals Lazio, but the Tuscan tactician has faith in his side’s ability to turn things around with a bit more luck.
"We have lacked consistency," he added. "The side has had its ups and downs, but without certain unfortunate episodes we would be higher up in the table.
"Our League position is not pretty but with the same level of seriousness and hard work, things will improve."

斯帕莱蒂的队伍现在排在第十，落后同城死敌拉齐奥两分，但是这位来自托斯卡纳的战术大师坚信他的队伍能够扭转目前的不利局面，当然，如果运气再好一点的话。
“我们缺乏连贯性，”他说道，“队伍的表现起伏不定，但是如果没有这么多的不和谐的插曲，我们能在积分榜上排得更前。”
“我们目前的排名不太好，但是只要我们一丝不苟地刻苦训练，情况会得到改善。”
