Chelsea face competition from Juventus for Belgium international midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
If he takes the manager's job, Antonio Conte wants the Roma star as one of his first recruits at Stamford Bridge with question marks raised over Jon Obi Mikel and Nemanja Matic.
However, Juventus are bracing themselves for the departure of Paul Pogba, with Chelsea among his suitors too, and have made initial enquiries about Nainggolan, who is valued at around £25million.
Any potential move to Juve could be scuppered by the 27-year-old's history over Twitter spats with the club's fans.
Nainggolan notably mocked the Turin giants last summer following the completion of his move to Roma having previously been part-owned by Cagliari.
He said at the time: 'I don't think it's necessary to go into a star-studded team to win a trophy. I am in a great side and I want to win with the Giallorossi,' he said in July.
'For me it's better to win one trophy at Roma than 10 at Juventus.'
