Capello staying at Roma
Roma boss Fabio Capello has insisted that he wants to remain in charge at Stadio Olimpico, but reiterated his interest in coaching in England one day.
Roma have finished in second place in Serie A but have enjoyed a decent season, and Capello is determined to stay in charge.
His name is regularly linked with jobs all over Europe but he has insisted that he will see-out the remaining year on his contract.
"It has been a good season for Roma. I'm happy at what we have done," Capello told Corriere dello Sport.
"I have another year on my contract and I want to respect that. I am the coach.
"We will meet the president and we will talk. But I've already planned everything, from the summer camp dates and the friendlies.
"The team is internationally esteemed. I've given them a new mentality and I've transmitted experience. Everyone who worked with me understood what aims we have."
Skipper Francesco Totti is being linked with a switch to the superstars at Real Madrid and Capello concedes that he could be on the move should he perform well in Euro 2004.
"I hope it can be Totti's European Championship and there is the possibility he could be the star.
"It is his big chance, an international shop window that can allow him to win the Golden Ball.
"Real Madrid? I know there is the will to have him."
Capello has been linked with several jobs in England and, although there is nothing on the cards just yet, it could be a possibility in the future.
"Future in England? There aren't many possibilities there.
"But it's still fascinating to see the way they live before and after the match. It's a different football.
"For us the real 'abroad' is England."
Holland are seen as a team to watch in Portugal according to Capello, although he says much will depend on who has the most tired players.
"Italy, England and Spain will arrive with not many fresh players. It will be interesting. Holland seem an important team to me.
"Then there will be France as usual. I don't think that much of the Czech Republic.
"But everything will depend on the teams' physical condition.
"For Italy it is most difficult to qualify because it will be a challenge."
