Palermo's Liverani Hopes For Roma Switch
Palermo midfielder Fabio Liverani has once again been linked to a move to Roma, his favourite team since he was a kid.
However, for Liverani it isn't the easiest thing to do, considering that he captained eternal rivals Lazio until a few years ago.
Indeed, it was with the fellow Roman side that he was first linked with a switch to the Giallorossi.
"There's always the hope," admitted the 32-year-old to RadioRadio. "I could play in a team competing in the Champions League.
"Three years ago we were really close, but the situation was more problematic than today. I was the Lazio captain and moving to Roma was not easy.
"Going back I would do it. At Roma they have my phone number and we could talk about it, even though at Palermo I have a president who respects me a lot.
"I was handed the captain's armband straight away and a three-year contract. I'm proud and I want to repay this respect as well as I can.
"The Roma choice would be different: it wouldn't be from the head, but from the heart."
The Somali-Italian has been a regular in the Palermo first eleven this season after playing 21 matches in Serie A since joining the club in the summer.
