AS Roma coach Gigi del Neri has identified Chievo Verona veteran Federico Cossato as a replacement for Tottenham-bound striker Mido.
  
Egyptian international Mido is set to join Spurs on-loan and Del Neri hopes to bring Cossato to Rome as a direct replacement.

Del Neri worked with the 33 year-old Cossato while in charge at Chievo and is confident the veteran can do a job for him at Roma.

Chievo have effectively invited Roma to make an offer for Luigi Del Neri’s favourite Federico Cossato, while Messina make a new signing.
切沃向罗马中意的科萨托提供了一份建议

The Giallorossi Coach admitted he was looking to sign a new striker during the January transfer window following Marco Delvecchio’s decision to join Brescia and Mido’s official switch to Spurs.

The number one target is Federico Cossato, who has been with the Flying Donkeys since 1997 and fits the profile for his tactical system.

Above all, the 32-year-old would be willing to sit on the bench until he was needed, but the Verona based club has no intention of making this a free deal.

“At the moment nobody has put in a request for Cossato,” pointed out Chievo director of sport Giovanni Sartori. “If the move does go through, then it will not be the same process that brought Massimo Marazzina to Roma.”

Last season Marazzina left Chievo on loan after a row with Del Neri, but he barely set foot on the field during his six-month spell in the Capital.
