AS Roma and Newcastle United are being linked with a January raid for Deportivo La Coruna defender Cesar. Roma are expected to lose some players come the transfer window and feel that the 27 year old international could go some way towards replacing the expected losses,
and with the money off the expected sales, thought to include Cassano they will have the money to fund the deal
Newcastle United on the other hand are desperate to bolster their defence after the loss of Woodgate to Madrid in the summer and see Cesar as the answer, both clubs are counting on the fact that the 27 year old defender currently has less than 2 years to run on his contract, which could persuade Deportivo to part with him.
