The representative for the potential new owners met with consumer protection officials today to prove they have the financial stability to complete the takeover. This process is necessary because Roma are floated on the stock market. 
“I am very confident, we have everything we need to go forward and we’ll see what happens,” Fioranelli told television cameras. 
“We have no deadlines. This story has been going on for a long time and sooner or later it will come to a head, but it depends on us rather than the Sensi family. 
“This puts me in a position of immense responsibility towards the city, the fans and the media. We are aware this is a huge matter and it’s not something you do on a whim getting up in the morning. We are evaluating the situation and a decision will be made.” 
Time is running out for the club, though, as with the ownership unclear it is bound to delay transfer activity and contract renewals. 
“The world was built in seven days, give me a few more, seeing as I am no God! If we do takeover Roma then we know what our responsibility is. We will not disappoint anybody.” 
The Roma supporters have protested at the delays and are demanding that President Rosella Sensi sell up to construct a more competitive side, as even their Europa League spot is at risk. 
“I think the behaviour towards the Sensi family has been very wrong. They deserve great respect and praise from all of Rome, as they gave so much to this team with passion. 
“I haven’t spoken to them yet not because they didn’t want to, but because there is a legal process that has to be respected when a club is on the stock exchange. 
“We will clarify the situation when we are in a position to do so, which at the moment we are not. 
“I do want to make clear that we are not seeking publicity, as there are people here who are extremely professional and I think their discretion underlines how serious the project is.”

The agent of Bari star Stefano Guberti has revealed that his client refused a contract from Queens Park Rangers in the hope of joining Roma.

Guberti has been an important member of Antonio Conte's Bari side that have secured a place in Serie A next season.

The 24-year-old has become a target for a host of teams because he will become a free agent this summer.

“We are interested in Roma's project and Stefano sees them as his first choice,” Claudio De Nicola said on Radio Centro Suono Sport.

“He is a lad at the start of his career, even if he has done very well this season.

“Last week I spoke to the Roma directors and Guberti could be offered a four-year deal.

“Within a month I hope to have a deal completed. We turned down an offer from Flavio Briatore's QPR to wait for Roma.”

Luciano Spalletti is optimistic going into tomorrow’s Milan clash and denies he has been approached by Juventus.

He is one of the candidates to take over in Turin next season following Claudio Raneri’s dismissal on Monday.

“I have not spoken to Juve. I will have to meet with President Rosella Sensi and then we’ll see what the future holds,” said the Roma Coach.

The Giallorossi need every spark they can find, as their Europa League position is under threat from Palermo and Udinese.

This makes Sunday’s trip to Milan, where the Rossoneri need a win to be sure of a top three finish, very tense for all parties involved.

“It will be a top class match, both because of the result and the two strong teams who are facing off,” continued Spalletti.

“I am confident on what my players can do. It will be a difficult game in Milan, though we must go there with the firm intention of getting a result.”

Juan and Julio Baptista return to the squad, but Simone Perrotta, Max Tonetto, Christian Panucci, Cicinho, Alberto Aquilani, Alexander Doni and the suspended Daniele De Rossi stay home.

“Yesterday Baptista got a knock just above his knee and it inflamed the tendon, so we will have to follow its progress and see if he can recover.

“I hope to see Juan on the field and we’ll have to hear how he feels in the morning. Today he asked to end his training session early because he had a sore muscle and so I thought it better to be safe than sorry.”

Roma would like Luciano Spalletti to make a decision on his future by next Tuesday, according to Corriere dello Sport.

This year has been a frustrating one for Spalletti, who is being strongly linked with Milan and Juventus.

Roma look set to end the season in sixth place, which is their lowest finish in Spalletti's four seasons with the club.

The 50-year-old tactician has been ambiguous when asked about his future in recent weeks, making Roma anxious.

Bruno Conti and Daniele Prade, Roma's two directors of sport, both want him to stay and see out his contract.

However, they need to know his intentions soon so they can plan for this summer's transfer market and next season.

Should Spalletti end his relationship with Roma, Marco Giampaolo and Massimiliano Allegri would be the favourites to succeed him.

Mancini rules out Roma Thursday 28 May, 2009

Ex-Inter tactician Roberto Mancini doesn't think that the Roma bench will be his next coaching job.

Mancio was sacked by Inter a year ago despite delivering the Scudetto and has been unemployed since.

But the 44-year-old has that he is ready to return to the game and is considering working overseas.

There have been reports linking Mancini with the Roma job should Luciano Spalletti leave this summer, but these seem to be fabrication.

“I have said that I want to return to coaching, but I don't see myself at Roma next season,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia 24.

“At the moment there has been no contact with the Giallorossi because they haven't called me.

“If I were to remain in Italy I would want to fight for the Scudetto. I certainly won't rule out a move abroad.”

  Brazilian international defender Juan has signed a contract extension with the Lupi. 
  Juan joined Roma from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007 for just under ￡5m and he has played 42 games for the Giallorossi since.
  There had been rumours linking the 30-year-old with a switch to one of La Liga's giants, but he is now ready to commit to his current employers.
   "Roma and Juan would like to announce that they have agreed to extend the player's contract until June 30, 2013,” a statement from Roma reads. “
   Juan will receive ￡4.5m for the 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons. He will get ￡4.6m for 2011-12 and 2012-13 as well as performance-related bonuses. 
   The central defender had been under contract until 2011 but this move is a sign that Roma don't intend to scale down their ambitions after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Luciano Spalletti will not commit himself to Roma until a meeting with President Rosella Sensi next week.

“Before making a decision I have to talk to the club owners,” said the Coach after a 3-2 victory over Torino.

“I still need to speak with President Sensi to evaluate whether the conditions to carry on together are present or not.

“I am relaxed, because I am aware that I have a very good squad at my disposal. If we look back over the last four years then we can see it’s a team capable of important victories.

“The wins have been even more impressive considering we achieved them with an inferior potential to the other big clubs.”

This is the sticking point with Spalletti, who said this week he would remain on the bench as long as there was clarity over objectives.

He suggested if someone said they could win the Scudetto with these resources, then he would step aside, but otherwise start the season with lower ambitions.

“Right now our team has real margin for improvement, although we have fewer resources than the big clubs like Inter, Milan and Juventus.

“Our objective must be to start bridging that gap that divides us from them.”

Vinicio Fioranelli, the FIFA agent looking to buy Roma, is back in the capital today trying to broker a deal for the club, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi are in considerable financial trouble and need new investment if they are to get back to being competitive in Serie A.

Italpetroli, the company run by the Sensi family, who own Roma, is under a mountain of debt and its creditors are pushing for the club to be sold.

The Sensi family met with Unicredit last week and were reportedly told to reopen negotiations with Fioranelli, who had bid for the club before.

Last Friday, lawyers representing the Sensi family apparently called Fioranelli to organise a meeting for this week.

Fioranelli will now sit down and discuss a deal for the club over the next three days, during which time another offer could be placed.

Roma are ready to sign Marco Motta from Udinese for a figure believed to be £3.5m, according to the Italian Press.

The 23-year-old joined Roma on loan in January and has impressed Luciano Spalletti, making 13 appearances.

Written into his loan deal was a clause, allowing Roma to buy him between the 22nd and 26th of June.

Since joining Roma, Motta has been called up to represent Italy against Montenegro and the Republic of Ireland.

He is widely regarded as one of the best young full-backs in the country along with Inter's Davide Santon.

Juve consider Baldini

Juventus are looking for a director general and believe Franco Baldini, the England assistant manager, is right for the role.

The Bianconeri want someone who knows how to manage relations between the club, the team and the media.

Baldini performed a similar role at Roma between 1999 and 2005. However, he had more wide ranging powers and was also allowed to scout players as well.

Beppe Marotta, the Sampdoria director general, had been targeted, although he is keen to stay in Genoa.

Consequently, attention has turned to Baldini, who joined England in 2007 when Fabio Capello was appointed manager.

Juventus have a very clear structure. Jean Claude Blanc takes care of economic matters and Alessio Secco coordinates the club's transfer strategy.

For this reason, Tuttosport, the Turin based newspaper, believes Baldini would be a strange choice as he might 'step on the feet' of Blanc and Secco.

Roma are checking the credentials of Vinicio Fioranelli, the football agent, who represents a Swiss consortium interested in buying the club.

Roma's controlling shareholder, Italpetroli, which is owned by the Sensi family, is trying to learn whether the potential buyer actually has the funds to take over the club.

Italpetroli has massive debts and is being kept afloat by a loan from Italian bank Unicredit, which is pushing for Roma to be sold.

“Italpetroli and its financial adviser Mediobanca are currently checking the solidity of interest,” a statement read.

“Italpetroli… makes clears that no offer has been formalised directly or indirectly by Vinicio Fioranelli.”

Roma need new investment if they are to remain competitive in Serie A and make progress in European competition.

The Giallorossi finished sixth in the League this season and will have to do without Champions League money next year.

我已经替俱乐部想好了下个赛季失败的理由：

由于赛季初关于收购的一系列传闻影响到了球队的备战尤其是转会，2011-2012赛季球迷们将看到一支不一样的罗马。

失去了两千五百万的欧冠转播费，而我们的主要对手却已经稳赚了这笔钱。。。。
其中差价五千万，看来再不早日作出变动，接下来的赛季会愈发险恶啊。。。。。。
