La cessione del difensore romeno permetterà di portare a termine altre operazioni, compreso il prolungamento del contratto di Max Tonetto e l’arrivo di Francesco Modesto. «Ho incontrato i dirigenti della Roma a Milano nei giorni in cui si risolvevano le comproprietà - rivela il procuratore di Tonetto Roberto Sistici - e abbiamo deciso che ci vedremo dopo che si risolverà la situazione di Chivu. Chivu a parte, la Roma dovrà presto risolvere anche la questione dei rinnovi di Tonetto e Ferrari. Entrambi i contratti sono in scadenza 2008, ma l’esito della trattativa potrebbe non essere identico. Per Tonetto non dovrebbero esserci problemi. Al Quark Hotel di Milano Pradè e l’agente del giocatore Roberto Sistici si sono incrociati e si sono dati appuntamento per la "prossima". A confermarlo è stato ieri lo stesso Sistici che si è detto ottimista («Non ci dovrebbero essere problemi»). Entro la fine della prossima settimana Max dovrebbe firmare il nuovo contratto.

Walter Novellino had the opportunity to coach Max Tonetto during his Sampdoria days, and for this reason he is hoping to be able to sign the 32-year old full-back considering how reliable the veteran defender is.
Roma would only let Tonetto leave for an adequate sum after the Giallorossi managed to sign the Italian defender on a free transfer last season.
Novellino is hoping to build a strong Torino side in the coming years to lead the Granata to the top half of the standings rather than fight for relegation as was the case in the past season.
Tonetto was an important element of the Giallorossi's past season as the former Sampdoria and Lecce defender played 30 Serie A matches during the 2006/07 season.(Goalcom)

Rinnovo in vista, e pure in tempi brevi, anche per Tonetto. Arrivato a Roma nella passata stagione a parametro zero, l’esterno aveva firmato un contratto biennale, quindi con scadenza 2009, ma la società lo ha già informato che ha intenzione di prolungarglielo per altri due anni. Questo perché Tonetto ha dimostrato di essere un ottimo giocatore e anche un professionista esemplare. Le cifre legate al contratto di Tonetto, comunque, sono molto distanti da quelle legate alla trattativa con De Rossi. Ovviamente.

Roma left-back Max Tonetto is ready to sign an extension to his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 32-year-old has become an important figure for the Giallorossi and is expected to demand a healthy pay rise.
“We are always ready to talk to the club about Tonetto’s contract,” agent Roberto Sistici insisted.
“I’m not going to go out of my way to arrange a meeting as it is a very delicate situation and it needs to be treated with discretion.
“However, it’s clear that this is the right moment to resolve the question. I don’t see any problems regarding length of contract or wages, but we need to be cautious.

L'esterno giallorosso ha un contratto che andrà in scadenza il prossimo giugno ma vorrebbe prolungare l'attuale accordo con la Roma: "Spero e voglio rimanere altri due anni qua. Sembra che siamo sulla stessa sintonia, sulla stessa lunghezza d'onda con la società". Un rinnovo che ha il sapore della formalità dunque. In ogni caso meno difficile l'altro desiderio del giocatore: "Mi piacerebbe segnare il mio primo gol con questa maglia.
